BEFORE & AFTERCARE

Permanent makeup/tattoos are NOT recommended for any clients who are or have:

  • Anyone under the age of 18
  • Pregnant or nursing
  • Diabetes
  • Undergoing Chemotherapy
  • Viral infections and/or diseases
  • A Pacemaker or major heart problems
  • Had a organ transplant within the past year
  • Skin irritations near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
  • Had Botox in the past 2 months
  • Used Roaccutane in the last 6 months
  • On prescription Blood Thinners
  • Hepatitis or HIV positive
  • Currently sick with cold or flu-like virus


Preliminary questions to ask:

  • Are you being treated for some chronic diseases?
  • Do you currently have any signs of an infection?
  • Do you take any medications on a regular basis?
  • Have you used some new medicines in the last ten days?
  • Have you undergone any cosmetic procedures, such as chemical peeling, botox, fillers, skin exposure to UV radiation in tanning beds?


These conditions * may require a doctor consent

  *Auto-Immune Disease (HIV/AIDS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Multiple sclerosis, Polymyalgia rheumatica, etc.)
  *Diabetes
  *High Blood Pressure
  *Glaucoma
  *Liver Disease and Hepatitis
  *Thyroid/Grave's Disease


To achieve the best possible results, please follow the instructions prior to your procedure.

  4 weeks before:
  • No chemical peels, lasers, microdermabrasion, Botox, fillers on the forehead and eye area, or other intense treatments.
  • Stop using any products containing retinoids (retinol or Retin-A).
  7 days before:
  • Do not take fish oil (Omega 3), Vitamin E, or B6, and do not tan or have intense sun exposure.
  3 days before:
  • Do not wax, thread, tweeze, or tint.
  48 hours before:
  • Do not drink coffee, alcohol, or energy drinks. Do not take aspirin, niacin, Advil, or Ibuprofen.
  Day of procedure:
  • Do not exercise prior to the procedure. Enlarged pores weaken pigment retention.
  • Please arrive for your appointment without make-up, creams, gels, or lotions on treatment areas.



Patch test (optional): Patch test (optional): There is a possibility of an allergic reaction to pigments. A patch test is advisable; however, it does not ensure a client will not have an allergic reaction. Please inform the technician if you want to proceed with the test, as it does require at least 48 hours before the procedure.


PERMANENT MAKEUP AFTERCARE

Aftercare is very important for your healed results! Follow the instructions below:


RIGHT AFTER THE PROCEDURE:
  • Gently dab the eyebrows with a clean pad to remove lymph.
DAY 1 AFTER PROCEDURE:
  • Wash brows with gentle soap 1 hour after procedure. Pat dry. Apply VERY THIN layer of ointment. Repeat before bed.
RIGHT AFTER THE PROCEDURE:
  • Gently dab the eyebrows with a clean pad to remove lymph.
DAY 2 TO DAY 10:
  • GENTLY wash brows with gentle soap morning and night followed by applying a VERY THIN layer of ointment (no worries, this does not remove the pigment).

*DO NOT do any harsh scrubbing, exfoliate, or use any cleansing products containing acids such as glycolic, lactic, or AHA etc.


THINGS TO REMEMBER:


Your eyebrows are healing. It is normal for them to be red, dark, and swollen.
FIRST 7 - 10 DAYS
• Avoid soaking or wetting your eyebrows in the shower and when washing your face.
• Avoid applying make-up to the eyebrow region.
• Avoid workouts that involves excessive perspiration, saunas, facial massage and steaming.
• Avoid direct sun exposure. Wear SPF.
• DO NOT pick your scabs! You will pull out the pigment.
• Do not sleep on your face.

IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS
• Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, light therapy, chemical peels, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors.
• Avoid laser treatment over the treated area as they can destroy the pigment and cause inflammation.
• The use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to faster pigment fading.

Signs and symptoms of infection, including, but not limited to, redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site. If these signs occur, seek medical care. If these signs occur, seek medical care.



FAILURE TO FOLLOW AFTER-CARE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN INFECTIONS, PIGMENT LOSS OR DISCOLORATION.

TATTOO AFTERCARE

Aftercare is very important for your healed results! Follow the instructions below:


DAY 1:
  • Leave your bandage on for 4 hours then wash your tattoo with mild soap. Pat dry. Apply VERY THIN layer of ointment.
DAY 2 - 4:
  • Morning and night wash your tattoo, pat dry and reapply ointment.
DAY 5 - 7:
  • You no longer need to wash your tattoo. Apply ointment 1-2 times a day.
DAY 8 - 14:
  • Continue applying ointment or unscented lotion.

*It is normal for there to be in residue, blood, or lymph when you remove bandage.
*Avoid getting your tattoo wet.
*Let your tattoo flake off naturally.

IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS
• Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, light therapy, chemical peels, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors.
• Avoid laser treatment over the treated area as they can destroy the pigment and cause inflammation.
• The use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to faster pigment fading.

DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO!
*Do not use a washcloth or anything abrasive on your tattoo.
*Avoid hot tubs, steam rooms and any swimming and water activities.
*Avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds for 2 weeks
*Avoid sweaty exercise for 1 week.
